Fogo Pauses Mainnet to Halt Movement of Affected Assets After Breach

Fogo, an SVM Layer 1 network, said on August 30 that it had temporarily halted mainnet operations as a precautionary step after detecting unauthorized activity, in an effort to stop the continued transfer of affected assets. During the suspension, Fogo will upgrade its network and restrict addresses associated with the incident. The team said further updates would follow once more details are confirmed, and urged users to get information only from Fogo's official channels, warning that no other source should be relied upon for updates. So far, the cause of the incident, the scale of the affected assets, and the expected timing for the mainnet's restoration have not been disclosed. The move follows an earlier attack on the Fogo Foundation by an unknown hacker, which resulted in roughly 400 million FOGO tokens being transferred to an attacker-controlled address. The foundation said it had notified relevant trading platforms immediately and was in active communication with law enforcement and forensic experts.
